CHOOSING A VOUCHER SYSTEM

If you don’t already have an online store or voucher system then we would recommend using GiftUp! There are no monthly contracts or hidden costs just a small transaction fee for each voucher purchased. You can even personalise the look of the vouchers in line with your brand. Their website is super straightforward and it’s so quick and easy to get set-up and which is key in the current situation. Giftup! are generously offering to wave their fees on first $5000 worth of voucher sales.

We aren’t saying that one voucher system is better than the other but in the short space of time we have had to launch the Give to Get Project, we have only tested and used Giftup!

If you choose a different system other than Giftup! just make sure it has the features you need to quickly integrate into your system and to receive the cash immediately into your business.

Whatever system you choose, just make sure it works for you and your business.

WHAT YOU NEED

  •  An account with a payment gateway (PayPal for example). Remember they will charge their standard fee for processing any orders.
  • Social media accounts for your business (which you likely already have set up) so that you can promote your vouchers.
  • You will need to download the app on your smartphone in order to scan the vouchers when the customers to redeem them. Both Android and Apple IOS devices are supported. Click here for info
  • As mentioned, Giftup is offering $5000 worth of free transactions to get started but once that’s used they will charge a small transaction fee per sale. Details on their fees are here

Overview

The setup process should take no longer than one hour. As mentioned above you will need your payment gateway details etc. the system leads you through the process so we won’t repeat it all here but below is a quick overview with some tips.

  1. Signup to giftup HEREusing your business email address. It will be used to receive notifications on sales etc and will provide you with the credit
  1. Find the authorisation email they just sent you, click the link and setup a secure password.
  1. It will ask you to fill in the standard business details. Name, Address etc
  1. Now it gets to the cool part, creating your voucher. You can simply add the custom amount option presented or create your own options. You can simply make the voucher for a set amount or you can get creative with offers etc.
  1. Then you need to connect your payment gateway. PayPal is likely the easiest option

  1. You will then get your voucher checkout link to post on your social media or options to embed onto your website.

TIP – Click the option “DON’T HAVE A WEBSITE” which will then provide you with your unique checkout link which can then be copied for use on social media posts. Paste this link into a web browser to see what your checkout looks like. See next step to customise it further

  1. We recommend you customise your checkout a little to match your business branding. You can change the colours, fonts and add your company logo etc. Download our digital toolkit below for some example gift cards and our logo.

  1. Other settings to check would be your default T&C’s, default artwork & expiry.

  1. The last thing we advise is testing the system. This function is all built-in and allows You can go through the entire process here without charges. You will receive the email confirmation or the order plus the customer will get their test voucher
  1. That’s it. You’re done. Share the link with your customers on your social media etc
